Welcome to my first newsletter coming to you from Life and Wonder with Bronnie Ware. Thanks to all of you who have ridden through the transition with me and hello to those of you who are brand new to my community.
In addition to my fortnightly newsletter, you can now also read notes via your computer or the Substack app. They are small, regular snippets of inspiration and reflection. For paid subscribers, there are longer weekly stories with a voiceover of me reading them if you’d prefer to listen than read.
Stories already waiting for paid subscribers are:
I Got Here Through Resistance
Being Willing to Look Like a Fool
Intuition and the Heart’s Voice
Mistakes I’ve Made in Business
It’s a nice energy on Substack and I understand why many are moving there and away from social media. I look forward to growing my content library in a way that evolves naturally and enjoyably for us all. (And don’t miss the opening special at the bottom of this letter!)
A quick update on The Purple Chair series: After the whole process of writing, editing, and then working with the cover designer and distributors, I can’t quite believe that Books 5 and 6 of the series are now available! That’s the whole series! The paperback has also been released through Amazon. It contains all six stories in one small book. They are short stories, after all, so it’s not a whopper in size. But as my very short sister often says, nice things come in small packages. So for those of you who have been waiting for the paperback, it is now waiting for you too.
I am currently away up the coast for work and to reconnect with a couple of friends. Being on the road in solitude is always heavenly to my soul, being a person who thrives on silence but never gets enough of it! I think the road will always be my home, in a way. It’s where I most feel like myself.
We can all have many aspects of ourselves, discovered through various chapters of life and experiences. Peace is easier to experience by not holding too tightly to any, to not grieve when we move from one to another. They all have their role in the long journey of life we’re on and the more present we can be, the more delight we can find in whichever part of us is stepping forward most obviously at the time.
We can go from exhausted parent to professional career person, gardener or sportsperson to a funny friend cracking jokes. They all have their place in our learning.
The more we loosen our control of how life should be, the more it flows.
There’s an exercise at the end of most of the online Qi Gong classes I do that says to let your body bend wherever it will, like bamboo in the wind. It is always a nice feeling as my body re-centres itself that way.
It’s the same in life.
When we dare to let go of holding on too tightly and let ourselves bend wherever the breeze takes us, it opens us to delight and positive surprise.
The more we stay grounded in our connection with our heart, the more we loosen the hold. We learn to trust our heart which is directly connected to the divine source, whatever you call God.
When we are grounded enough to trust our heart, we trust life which always wants to support us.
When we trust life, we can bend like bamboo and enjoy the process with flexibility and the loosening of our hold.
Sure, some responsibilities have to be attended to etc, but life can still surprise us within our regular lives. It just takes being willing to let go and allow it to. This takes courage because hanging on to control can fool us into believing that we know every step ahead. We never do, but trying to control everything eases fears. It also creates them.
So, bend like the bamboo and be as loose as possible when receiving your life experiences. It’s a good feeling when you get used to it – and it leaves space for positive surprise.
I appreciate you all.
With love,
Bronnie.
